Dynamic propagation of mode III cracks in a Lattice Boltzmann method for solids

چکیده

This work presents concepts and algorithms for the simulation of dynamic fractures with a Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) linear elastic solids. LBM has been presented previously solves wave equation, which is interpreted as governing equation antiplane shear deformation. Besides steady growth crack at prescribed velocity, fracture criterion based on stress intensity factors (SIF) implemented. first time, that propagation mechanically relevant regarded in context LBMs. Numerical results are examined to validate proposed method. The introduced here not limited mode III cracks or simplified deformation assumption shear. By introducing rather simple processing step into existing level individual lattice sites, overall performance maintained. Our findings underline validity numerical tool simulate solids general well particular.
